Closing date: 05/05/2017
Salary: £ Main Scale

Job description:

Class Teachers (4 posts) for Key Stage One and Two

Closing date:  Friday 5th May 2017

Salary:  Main Scale

Windmill L.E.A.D. Academy is a vibrant inner city school that was graded ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection in January 2015. There have been recent senior leadership changes and the school is embarking on a new era with great positivity and determination to move the school forward. Windmill is a vibrant inner city school with a dedicated team who are working tirelessly to improve the outcomes of children.

The school is undergoing a huge refurbishment plan which will see a complete remodelling of the front of the school and a superb modern interior with state of the arc classrooms and enhanced teaching facilities. The school benefits immensely from being a member of a very forward looking and inclusive Trust where children can take part in STEM days, Bushcraft experiences and performing arts days which bring schools across the Trust together. Teachers throughout the Trust work in partnership and Windmill particularly works closely with Huntingdon Academy in St Ann’s.

These four posts would suit teachers with experience of teaching in the inner city but NQTs would be considered. High expectations, determination and a passion for making a difference to the life choices for inner city children are strong prerequisites of these posts.  Teachers will be supported by a dedicated and experienced leadership team who put mentoring and coaching at the heart of their practice.

All positions will start for September 2017 but could start earlier if possible.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has high expectations of pupil progress;
  • is passionate about education and developing a love of learning in children;
  • has the skills to work collaboratively with the teaching team
  • can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents;
  • is willing to embrace or bring new ideas to the Academy;
  • a commitment to developing their own skills.

In return, the successful candidate will:

  • be joining a strong and dynamic team of professionals;
  • work in a school with high aspirations for all of its pupils and staff;
  • have access to the L.E.A.D. Urban Teaching School Alliance’s professional development programme;
  • be provided with excellent career opportunities.

Windmill L.E.A.D. Academy is part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust which is a registered charity created in 2011.  The Trust aims, through outstanding leadership, to provide the highest quality education to enable every pupil to realise their full potential.  Further information about the Trust can be found here http://www.leadacademytrust.co.uk/about-us

This is a superb opportunity to develop and progress professionally and to impact upon children’s learning.

The L.E.A.D. Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Visits to the school warmly welcomed. Please ring 0115 915 0195.
